Gail Woolley attended Lima Central High School where he played in the band under Joseph Dupere and served as assistant director of the Junior High Band. Mr. Woolley enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1927 and was sent to the Army School of Music in Washington, D.C. After graduation he became cornet soloist of several fine Army bands. He became assistant leader and then director of the famous 5th Armored Division Band. Mr. Woolley was commissioned as lieutenant in the Ordnance Department in 1943 and assigned to the 16th Armored Division. Mr. Woolley retired from active service in 1947 and returned to Lima. Soon he organized the 96th Bengal Lancers Band of Post 96, American Legion, after which he became director of the Delphos Eagles Band. In 1970 he organized the Lima Area Concert Band, which has become one of the finest concert bands in the state.
John Hill attended Dashler High School, played trumpet in the band. John received his B.A. in music education from Bowling Green State University in 1969. He taught in the Indian Lake School District and later took a position with The Lima State Hospital, later to become Oakwood Forensic, as a activities therapist, since retired.
